“You’re not sick, you’re thirsty..”

For about a years time starting around year 2013 I suffered from incredibly strong stomach cramps, a side effect due to many medical treatments I had gone through. These cramps would sometimes come as often as  once/twice  a week and were so strong that I would end up having to take morphine to bare the pain.  My doctors tried a few different pills but nothing worked except the morphine. Since Im very sensitive to morphine I would end up vomiting the whole following day and not being able to get out of bed. This was very hard to live with as I never knew when they would appear. I could be at a dinner party or out in town when suddenly the pain would arise and I would have to rush home. One place where I would find a small pain relief was in a hot bath.

One day I came across a book called “Your bodies many cries for water” by Dr. F. Batmanghelidj.

Dr. Batmanghelidj was a medical doctor placed in the Evin Prison as a political prisoner for two years and seven months when the Iranian Revolution broke out in 1979. One night, Dr. B. had to treat a fellow prisoner with crippling peptic ulcer pain. With no medications at his disposal, Dr. B. gave him instructions to drink 1/2 litre of water every 2-3 hours. He became absolutely pain free for his four remaining months in the prison. Dr. B. successfully treated 3,000 fellow prisoners suffering from stress-induced peptic ulcer disease with water alone. After this time in prison he started researching further with water and found he could cure many other diseases with only water.

After had read this book I tried the “water cure” on my next stomach cramp outbreak. I drank 1 1/2 litre in one go and then 2 glasses after 10 min. Waited for another 10 min and the pain started to decrease. I continued drinking 2 glasses every 15 min and after an hour the pain was almost entirely gone. This helped me every time the cramps would come and I no longer needed to take any medication for the pain.

After this I began drinking 1 litre of lemon water first thing in the morning and between 2-4 litres throughout the day. This does not include the juices and smoothies I drink. I made this a routine that I have stuck to till this day. The cramps stopped appearing shortly after this change and also started noticing increased energy levels, better skin and no more headaches. During the night the body goes into repair mode so drinking water in the morning also helps flush out the wastage accumulated during the night. I don’t function properly now without my morning water, beats a cup of coffee any day. I can literarily feel the body slowly awakening as I drink.
